Chief Instructor & Examiner – 6th Degree Black Belt

A life-long martial artist, Peter started training as a teenager in the mid 70s and was awarded his Black Belt (1st Degree) in 1981 at the age of 19. By 1991, he had gained his 5th Degree Black Belt. During this period, he competed in kickboxing, Thai boxing, boxing and knock-down karate. He went on to become a Regional Examiner and International Instructor. He became the Chair of the Tokei Martial Arts Centre in Central London and held that position for twenty years. In 2013 Peter co-founded San Shou Kuan prior to creating the RealSSK in 2025. In addition, Peter is a Sanda (Chinese Kickboxing) and Shuai Jiao (Chinese Wrestling) Referee and Judge. He is a qualified boxing leader, weight training instructor and run leader.

Ed assists at the City & Central London classes on Mondays and Wednesdays 

Deputy Instructor City & Central London – 2nd Degree Black Belt

Chris has been training in martial arts for over 25 years and teaching since 2012. She attained her 2nd Degree Black Belt in 2017 and is working towards her 3rd Degree. She has helped many students develop their skills from beginners to seniors, offering tailored coaching whether you’re interested in self-defence, fitness or interested in competing. Chris is also a triathlete and scuba diving instructor.

1st Degree Black Belt

Jonathan assists at City & Central London on Fridays at the Sanda and Shuai Jiao sessions. He competes in Sanda (Chinese Kickboxing), and won the silver medal at the British Championships in 2019. He cross-trains in several striking and grappling martial arts, particularly judo, in which he also competes. He brings this experience to San Shou Kuan.

Head Shuai Jiao Coach and Founder of Shuai Jiao London

Michael has been coaching for over twenty years. As well as Shuai Jiao, Michael also teaches Capoeira and is a full time Personal Trainer. He has previously taught Mantis Kung Fu. Michael joins the City & Central London team to expand the practice of Shuai Jiao. RealSSK is delighted to have him on our team as Shuai Jiao overlaps with the practice of Sanda.
